3 Resources to Help You Identify Your Strengths

strengths business ownerDo you know what your strengths are? Identifying your strengths is crucial to leveraging them for your business. It is also crucial to recognizing the work, people, and resources that complement your strengths. Unfortunately, I find that many – if not most – business owners and managers are not really able to identify their strengths.

How Do You Identify Your Strengths?

This is a question I hear. I recommend three great resources that will enable you to identify your strengths. The first resource is Now, Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham and Donald Clifton. In this book, the authors reveal your primary talents and strengths among the 34 most prevalent themes. With this information, you are equipped to deliver consistent performance rather than repair weaknesses or flaws. The second resource is StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Tom Rath. This is an online assessment of your strengths that is mentioned in Buckingham and Clifton’s book. In addition to the inventory, the program offers 50 ideas for action. When you purchase either of these as new books, you will receive a code that will enable you to go online and take the StrengthsFinder Inventory yourself. The third resource is a business coach. A coach can answer questions or assist in the process of using these resources. We like to use these powerful tools to help our clients know and leverage their strengths. Tweet This
