Many people have a difficult time accepting this but it is true. Most of us have been conditioned by our culture to blame something outside of ourselves for the parts of our life we don’t like. We blame our employees, or parents, our spouse, our friends, the media, the economy – anyone or anything so we don’t have to look at the real source of the problem, ourselves.
You will never have the business success that is possible unless you take 100% responsibility for where your business is today. You must give up all of your excuses, your “poor me” stories, your blaming – everything – and take responsibility for what you have and where you are!
If something is not going right ask yourself: “How did I create this? What was I thinking? What did I do or fail to do? What did I say? What do I need to do differently next time to get the result that I want?”
Jim Rohn once said, “For your business to change, you must change – or nothing much will change!” If you take responsibility you will discover that you have the power to change your beliefs, your behaviors, and your outcomes! In fact, you have always had the power to create a different result.
Don’t just operate on “auto-pilot.” Be intentional about your business and your life. Take the time to think, to dream, and to create a vision for the future. Then examine your mindset. What limiting beliefs have held you back in the past? How will you change those in the future? How will you need to act differently in order to achieve your vision?
