Motivation for the CEO and Small Business Owner

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.  - Theodore Roosevelt Too often we spend our time thinking about what we don't have, and what we can 't do, and all the reasons we can't do things.  All people, including the CEO and the small business owner, must accept what you have right now.  In fact, you probably have a lot more than you realize!  But then determine to do the most you can with what you have right now! You will be amazed at how that will multiply into more! This just seems to be a principle of the universe!  Consider these parable quotes: Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things...One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.  - Gospel writers

Having a hard time seeing how much you really have?

Start by counting your blessings.  This is always a powerful source of motivation for me.  Make a list of all the things you can be thankful for today.  Think about every small thing and every large thing.  Think about your personal blessings as well as your resources and opportunities as a CEO and/or small business owner.  Let thankfulness temper all your thoughts.  Let thankfulness be a grid through which you perceive all of life.  You will be surprised at the motivation you receive from this exercise. It is motivational for me to work with CEO's and small business owners in Sugar Land and the Houston area of Southeast Texas.  I see these men and women do amazing things with the resources and opportunities that they have.  I see gratitude in them.  And as a result they discover incredible motivation, and they accomplish significant things with what many might consider "limited" resources. As we adopt an attitude of gratitude, and then do what we can with what we have, wonderful things happen!
